Africa's wildlife and sweeping landscapes remind me of what the frontier west was like. Many areas are almost uninhabited and there are very few modern towns or cities.
The game parks present non-stop opportunity to view the wild animals while on safari.
But the continent is shockingly dirt poor with most people still living without electricity or running water. One tribe we visited, had to walk 4 miles every day to get fresh water.
